K&T Pump Testing and Services

Annual pump tests are crucial for ensuring the readiness and reliability of fire apparatus. Each year, numerous fire departments rely on us to conduct their Annual Pump Service Test, providing certification of the apparatus’s condition for the upcoming year. Our comprehensive service test assesses various critical components, including the electrical system, fuel system, cooling system, engine and transmission performance, priming system, and water pump performance.

Given the interconnectedness of these components with chassis performance, our experienced technicians can readily identify and understand any related issues impacting pump performance. At K&T, consistency is key. We employ the same rigorous process and equipment from previous tests to discern changes in performance and pinpoint their causes accurately. This includes utilizing the same water source, suction hose size, discharge points, hose layout, and suction strainer that match the pump’s specifications. Any deviations observed during training exercises or emergencies throughout the year should be noted and communicated to our technicians for evaluation during subsequent testing sessions.

Our testing procedures adhere closely to NFPA 1911 and U.L. standards, although slight variations may exist. Pump testing and preventive maintenance services can be conducted either on-site at your location or at our specialized service facility.
